The Westgate New York Grand Central Hotel recently renovated its entire property and it’s glorious. Marble floors, quartz vanities, mixed metal accents, gem tone furnishings, herringbone wood flooring, charming decor, private balconies with stunning views of Manhattan and the East River, and luxury bedding await you.

This property is both timeless and modern. You’ll find beauteous Klimt artwork throughout the hotel, elegant accommodations in each of their rooms and suites, luxurious bedding for a restful stay, and the friendliest staff to assist you.

From the noise of the busy NYC streets and into the calm of this gorgeously renovated hotel, you’ll be transported into elegance as soon as you walk through The Westgate’s doors.

Elements + Architecture

The Westgate Grand Central Hotel is a 20-story brick historic building with elements that remind me of the Roaring ’20s, but modernized. It was just recently fully renovated and is now open for guests. The designer’s use of opulent metals, gem tones, sophisticated art deco, Klimt artwork, marbled flooring, herringbone wood patterns, ornamental paneling, and textured wall coverings is impressive. Golden finishes, soft tiling, framed mirrors, and brass adornments are found throughout.

History

“In 2021, the Westgate Grand Central finalized a nearly $20 million dollar renovation and was meticulously renewed to preserve and uplift the elegant history that radiates from Tudor City, giving new life to an iconic retreat that offers easy access to all the best New York City landmarks; now more than ever, Westgate New York Grand Central is the premier choice for hotels near Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan.” (Westgate Resorts)

The building was originally constructed in 1931 as the Hotel Tudor and was known for years as the Hilton Midtown Hotel. Now, nine decades later, the historic hotel has been re-imagined. The property radiates the ambiance and charm of a bygone era in modern form. In March 2020 (when we all began to quarantine), the property closed its doors to fully renovate—- and how stunning the Westgate New York Grand Central is today.

Suite 2011

I like to call suite #2011 “my suite” as I am quite fond of this impeccably kept multi-room suite. It’s a gorgeous corner suite with luxury king-bedding, a chic separate sitting area, an impeccable full bathroom, and a large private balcony that offers expansive views.

Suite #2011 also features three large Klimt artwork pieces, two closets (each with lighting and specialty shelving), the largest bathroom I’ve seen in all of Manhattan, and a grand balcony with spectacular views of Manhattan and the East River.

The bathroom took me by surprise. It’s large (I am sure it is equivalent to the size of some Manhattan studios) and immaculate. It features modern fixtures, 2 backlit LED mirrors, a full-length mirror, a beautiful quartz double-sink vanity, a semi-enclosed raindrop shower, bidet, and elevated bath products.

This suite is quiet as the windows are triple-paned and it is located on the top floor. For convenience, it features 4-6 USB connections to charge electronics, a large flat-screen TV in the bedroom for your enjoyment, an in-room coffee maker for your morning moments, a doorbell in case you cannot hear someone knocking, and complimentary wifi. I could stay in bed all day, but I can also work well while in this suite.

When reserving your stay, request suite #2011. If it is not available, not to worry as my colleagues sung praises over their accommodations.

As added bonuses, local calls are complimentary, newspapers are available upon request, and the staff will even print your boarding passes for you. Laundry service is also available for an added fee.
