Sunscreen FTW (for the win!)

I knew sunblock was important for so many reasons,
but I didn’t think it was essential.
Until now.
I’m 41 and trying to undo all of the years of fun-in-the-sun, sans skincare, sans beach umbrella. I didn’t think it was all that necessary to slather on the thick mineral creams that would create a white cast on my skin until I started realizing that no one is immune from the damaging rays of the sun.
Everyone must include sunscreen in their skincare routine (all skin types, all skin tones, all genders). It doesn’t matter what you do in your skincare regimen if you don’t use sunscreen in the mornings before you leave your house. UVA + UVB rays are real and will destroy the ingredients in your skincare and destroy your skin, even if you don’t notice any redness/tanning.
You need to protect your skin now so you don't have to do all the damage control later. I am also a double-organ transplant survivor and my medications give me a higher chance of getting skin cancer. NO, THANK YOU. This is the most motivating of all reasons why sunscreen is necessary for me, but I also noticed slight melasma and fine lines on my face this year. I don’t want to look older than I feel either. I’ll do my part now.
