The Red Yao Tribe's Traditional Practice for Healthy Hair
Discover the secret (now not-so-secret) of the Red Yao Tribe women’s hair…
The Red Yao Tribe women live in a remote village in Southern China. They care for their hair naturally via an ancient ritual passed down from mother to daughter for centuries. Haircare is a ceremony and the heart of Red Yau culture. The women have long, thick, strong, healthy hair without the slightest hint of gray. They use their nutrient-rich Longsheng rice to craft these natural haircare bars by hand to take care of their hair.
These all-natural, Longsheng rice shampoo and conditioner bars are made with rice exclusively found in the Longsheng Mountains and are sourced directly from the Red Yao women (at a premium to support and preserve their tribe). They are effective and inspired by the Ancient Haircare Rituals of the Red Yao Tribe.
Now, we have their handmade shampoo and conditioner bars available to us through Viori. Viori shares and preserves the traditions of the Red Yao women. And these shampoo bars work beautifully!
LOVES
♥️They smell heavenly and are easy to use
♥️Long-lasting (30-60 washes per bar) and fully sustainable
♥️Vegan, sulfate-free, paraben-free, cruelty-free
♥️Eco-responsible/eco-friendly packaging
When I received my pair of shampoo and conditioner bars, I wasn’t sure how they would work on my hair, but I loved how they smell and felt in my hands. When using them for the first time, and subsequent times, I was taken back by how clean my hair felt and how easy these bars are to use.
When telling friends about these bars, one of the most common question I get is, “Yes, but do they lather up?”. Yes, they do. Although a good lather doesn’t necessarily mean shampoo is working, I do like my shampoo to lather up (out of habit) and these bars do.
To use, I thoroughly wet my hair in the shower, gently massage the bar in circular motions on different areas of my scalp, and massage my scalp with the shampoo on it for about a minute. I leave the conditioner in for a few minutes while I tend to my body in the shower, then rinse out gently with cooler water. My hair always feels clean, refreshed, and moisturized.
