The "All Things Go" Fall Classic 2019 in Washington DC
Union Market is one of my favorite places to go in DC to nosh on yummies from all around the area and enjoy the company of Washingtonians and tourists alike. This weekend, our experience at Union Market was taken to the next level as we sang and danced our hearts out at The All Things Go Fall Classic!
The All Things Go Fall Classic is an annual staple event in Washington DC and was held at Union Market this year for its sixth annual music and food festival (I’m so glad— Union Market is one of my favorite places in DC ever). Talk about a line up— incredible high-profile performers/headliners performed and entertained us all, including CHVRCHES (Sean Phi’s fave) and platinum-selling artist/filmmaker Melanie Martinez (one of Tiana’s tops).
The Indie-pop scene was on FIRE! From LANY to COIN and Betty Who, fans lined the stage and filled the entire festival area to rock the day and night away. Talk about infectious energy! From start to finish, from Betty Who (who called the All Things Go Fall Classic her “favorite festival, probably in the world”) to Melanie Martinez, an absolute blast was held by all.
We came, we sang, we danced, we enjoyed our Saturday Session Rosé, noshed on Bun’d Up, took photobooth pics inside the exhibit area, hung out with the ladies of She Is The Music, & we sang and danced some more. One of my favorite moments was when Arkells played their rendition of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”. I couldn’t hide my excitement and, apparently, neither could the rest of my fellow crowd-go’ers. We had a blast and can’t wait to return next year!
Helpful Hints
(For when you attend next year…)
1) Wear flats (ouch).
2) Check to see if the festival is running a special with Lyft again! This year, Lyft donated $1 to “She Is The Music” when anyone took Lyft to the ATG Fall Classic.
3) Gates open at 11 AM and the music continued until midnight on both days, so be prepared to enjoy the day!
4) It’s perfectly normal to join the crowd conga lines (just do it!).
5) You’ll have many choices of eats to choose from, so don’t bring food. This year, Bun’d Up, Shake Shack, Swizzler, Nando’s Insomnia Cookies, JRINK (delish/healthy sips), &pizza, Rocklands BBQ, Arepa Zone (yummy cachapas), and more were serving up some major deliciousness (see?!?!).

I love that this festival isn’t just fun and games; it’s fun, games, food, drink, community, creativity, leadership, awareness, building up, and giving back. The festival kicked off with panel discussions led by prominent women in music and media entitled, “Classic Conversations”. Awareness and clarity elevate so much through conversation and meetings-of-the-minds.
