Alford will be supported by a core editorial team that includes deputy editor Trent Johnson, assistant editor M.K. Koszycki and editorial designer Julia Goldberg.

The theme of the first issue – “For the Love of D.C.” – features the magazine’s handpicked stable of talented journalists forecasting what to look forward to in the District in 2020, including interviews with local luminaries about why D.C. is thriving.
No Kings Collective co-founder Brandon Hill will illustrate the inaugural District Fray cover, providing an artistic depiction of the magazine’s love letter to Washington. The premier issue will also feature a number of local women in honor of Women’s History Month.
“We’ve translated DC Fray’s ‘Make Fun Possible’ mantra into a tangible ethos for the magazine that Washingtonians can rely on to stay in the know about what to do in and around the city through the lens of inclusive, eclectic and objective content,” says Alford.
“Monica is the perfect kind of journalist to bring a magazine like District Fray to life,” adds Robert Kinsler, United Fray Founder & CEO and District Fray Publisher. “Her curiosity, creativity, meticulous attention to detail and extensive knowledge of what makes D.C. tick all add up to a leader and visionary for this publication who I know will help our readers live their best lives and discover their next adventure.”
